If you love
Cannock Chase AONB, and wonder how you can give something back to help conserve and improve the beautiful, but endangered habitat, you might be interested in becoming a member of the AONB.
Cannock Chase AONB is proud to launch its new package of memberships. As well as newsletters and a book of stunning AONB photographs, members will help the AONB Partnership to protect the landscape, while getting a behind the scenes look at how the local area is managed.
There are lots of memberships to choose from - including individual, partner, family, group and corporate, as well gift memberships.
Emma Beaman, Assistant AONB Officer, said: “Cannock Chase AONB is part of 8,000 square miles of protected landscape across
England. It is important that we manage this distinctive and precious habitat well. Becoming a member of the AONB is a great way to be kept up to date about any developments, surveys or conservation work in the area, and to give something back to a habitat you love.”
Cannock Chase AONB’s first corporate member, Veolia Environmental Services, is gearing up to spend 20 days in the great outdoors taking part in conservation work.
Led by the AONB officers, the Veolia team will spend the 20 days throughout the year on staff conservation days. This will include removing birch shoots, litter picking, clearing ragwort and Himalayan balsam, and coppicing trees.
Linda King, from Veolia, said: “We believe it’s important for companies to give something back to the local community. Being a member of Cannock Chase AONB is a good way to muck in and help to improve the local natural habitat, and it is a really rewarding for our employees too. We’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and making a difference.”
