The Forestry Commission (FC) is the Government department responsible for the protection and expansion of Britain’s forests and woodlands. Forest Enterprise (FE) is an agency of the FC and manages the state forests in the AONB.
FC officers are involved in agreeing management proposals in state, local authority and privately owned woodlands in the AONB. With the exception of the state forests, the FC can offer grant support to achieve agreed objectives.
