The Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Management Plan
looks to the future of the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It contains a vision that can be only be achieved through the continued, active participation of a wide range of people. It sets out policies and actions which provide the framework for Annual Action Plans aimed at managing and protecting the AONB for the benefit of all.
To enable us to review the Management Plan ideally we need to views of the people who live and work within and around the AONB. Do you feel there is anything missing from the Plan? Should something be changed? Is there incorrect of irrelevant information in there?
Last year, the AONB Partnership invited local people to four open consultation events which allowed people to raise any issues that they have with the Management Plan and gave us the opportunity to have your views on any changes that need to be made when the Managment Plan is reviewed. People were able to talk to members of the Partnership, write their responses and send in responses after the event.
Feedback from the consultation so far is

Friday 28th November 2008 - 12 Week Consultation Process Commences
The text only version Draft Management Plan is now available as part of the continuing consultation process. To date all consultations as part of our review of the Management Plan have indicated that the existing Plan covers all the right issues. The Plan for the next five years has substantially carried forward these issues with some amendments to bring it up to date. You will find that the format has changed and we hope that this style is easy to follow and more concise for you to use.
You will see that some elements of this draft including appendices, maps and illustrations, as well as information about the existing state of the AONB have been omitted. Re-drafting of these elements will continue, although their content is unchanged from the existing Plan. We have focused on providing you with a clear view of the intended content of our policies and actions for comment.
We are making the draft AONB Management Plan available for comments for a 12 week period from 28 November 2007. We will therefore be taking representations up to 19 February 2008 and later comments will be accepted if possible. However,
we would encourage your responses by 23 January 2009. This will greatly assist us to start the process of analysing responses and finalising the plan ready for it to come into effect in March 2009.
If you require a paper copy of the document, please contact the AONB Unit via the button on the top of this page. Responses can be made by email or letter.
We look forward to receiving your responses in due course. If you require any further information or clarification please contact the AONB Unit.
