The Fixed Point Photography project has been running since 2005 when it was set up by Steve Welch. Initially there were 50 points in and around Cannock Chase AONB, a further 6 added later. Steve is still involved in the project and co-ordinates volunteer photographers who take images twice a year at these selected points. The aim of the project is to monitor the condition of the area and illustrate what changes have take place over time. The point we most frequently highlight is the Peace Vista, in between the Commonwealth and
German
Cemeteries. The view should be one of open heathland, but over time self seeded pine trees have blocked the view.
A report to assess the project was commissioned in 2010 and a display showing some of the images taken over the 5 year period was also produced.
The report is in sections below due to the file size.
