Date: 21 August 2025
Time: 10.00-14.00
Refreshments/lunch will be provided. Due to spaces available and refreshments to be provided booking is essential and will be on a first come served basis.
A Fixed-Point Photography project has been running in Cannock Chase since 2005, the longest running project of its type for any National Landscape in the country. It is an invaluable tool that helps to monitor the condition of the landscape, understand any changes, and inform the need for management interventions to keep the Chase special.
Volunteer photographers take images twice a year at a number of points in and around the National Landscape. The photographs are views from specific viewpoints that for example illustrate the special character and qualities of the National Landscape and can reveal trends both within the National Landscape and the wider setting.
The workshop will be held both indoors and outdoors. It will involve walking approximately 1km to site on paths. If you have any concerns, please get in touch and let us know.
Wear suitable clothing and footwear that affords good weather protection (waterproof), footwear with good sole grip.
The event is open to those aged 18 years or older. Please note that dogs are not permitted at the event.
This project is entirely dependent on volunteers. More information about the Fixed Point Photography project, including the locations and images of the viewpoints, can be found here.
To attend the workshop, please contact Richard Harris by emailing richard.harris1@staffordshire.gov.uk by Friday 8th August.
