Volunteering
Volunteering
Each year volunteers donate their time and skills to help conserve and enhance our special landscape. It’s a great way to make friends, learn new skills, get fit and make a real difference. There are lots of ways you can volunteer either through the National Landscape team or with our partners.
There are roles to suit a range of interests including: practical conservation tasks, helping at events, surveys, welcoming visitors, photography and litter picking.
Great War Hut
Great War Hut volunteers provide access and a warm welcome to everyone visiting the Great War hut at Cannock Chase Visitor Centre, Marquis Drive. They help to tell the story about Cannock Chase during the Great War and what life was like for the soldier recruits.
Fixed Point Photography
Our Fixed Point Photography project has been running for over 20 years and monitors changes in the character and condition of the landscape of the National Landscape. Our volunteers help by taking photographs at specific viewpoints on the Chase, twice a year.
Volunteering opportunities with partners
As well as supporting the work of the National Landscape team, volunteering opportunities are also available with other organisations in and around the National Landscape.
Get involved
All across Cannock Chase and beyond, people, communities and businesses are helping to keep our landscape special. There are lots of ways to get involved. Whether it is volunteering, developing your own wildlife and heritage project, becoming a Guardian of the Chase, or respecting and sharing the Cannock Chase Code, there is something for everyone to come together, take pride in the area and make a difference.
