Chase past, present and future

About the project

Our new Historic Environment Strategy ‘Chase past, present and future’ aims to ensure that the National Landscape’s rich and diverse heritage assets and broader cultural landscapes are protected for current and future generations.

The historic environment is fundamental to the distinctive character, sense of place and natural beauty of Cannock Chase.  As a National Landscape Partnership, we recognise that it is one of our most precious assets: shaping our cultural identity, contributing to our quality of life, and supporting the local economy.

Building on the seminal ‘Chase Through Time’ project and subsequent studies carried out over the last decade, this strategy sets out a framework for UNDERSTANDING, ENJOYING and CARING for the historic environment of Cannock Chase.  It includes an ambitious portfolio of projects which we will take forward with our partners and communities to deliver tangible and lasting benefits for the historic environment and local people.
