AONB Management Plan 2025-2030

What is it?

The five local authorities that cover Cannock Chase National Landscape (Staffordshire County Council, Cannock Chase District Council, Stafford Borough Council, Lichfield District Council and South Staffordshire District Council) are required by law to prepare a Management Plan for the area, and review it every five years.

The Plan is for the geographic area of the AONB designation and not for a single authority or body. It defines the qualities that makes Cannock Chase special, identifies the key issues facing this special place, and sets out our vision and priorities for conserving and enhancing its natural beauty for the next 5 years. It also describes the actions that we will take to deliver the vision, working in partnership with local communities and organisations.

The National Landscape Joint Committee approved the AONB Management Plan 2025-2030 on 10th March 2025 for adoption by each of the constituent local authorities from 1st April 2025.
