About the project
Climate change is a shared challenge, and we are working with our partners, land managers, residents and visitors to take action to improve the resilience of the National Landscape and reduce the impacts of hotter, drier summers, warmer wetter winters and extreme weather events.
We have three objectives that seek to:
- Lower greenhouse gas emissions (by promoting and encouraging the use of sustainable alternative means of transport by visitors to the Chase)
- Sequester and store more carbon (providing advice and support to farmers and land owners for land use practices that increase carbon sequestration and storage, or reduce flood risk)
- Adapt to climate change (prepare a climate change adaptation plan by 2028)
Funding is available through our Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme to support land management practices that store and sequester more carbon, or reduce flood risk.
